A big thank you to Helaina for raising £176 for CHA at our Ball of Hearts.
She has spent a year making bracelets to sell. They were beautifully colourful.
Charity fundraising has been in the news recently. We would like to reassure you that we have never sold your information to anyone. Our membership list is only used to send out information to you about our trips and events.
CHA are in the wonderful position that we don’t need to send letters asking for financial support. All our team are unpaid volunteers, and only rent a small storage unit to supply our occasional charity shop so our running expenses are low.
Let us share some news about our fabulous supporters who have raised money for CHA this summer. Liam ran Tough Mudder, Derek and Jodie both skydived for us, and others have had tea parties, been gardening for their neighbours, cycled Chester to Liverpool, run Manchester 10K and lots of other great fun things both big and small. We are very grateful to everyone who chooses to raise funds for us, and their friends and families for sponsoring them.
A huge thank you to everyone who worked together to help create our information day on Saturday 19th.
Thanks to our wonderful speakers, or those who led workshops; Dr Andreas Hoschtitzky, Claire Stableford, Dr Caroline Jones, Linda Griffiths, Clair Noctor, Kim Laurie, Hand on Heart, Parent Voices Count, and the rest of the cardiac teams who led our sessions for teenagers and the adults with CHD who attended. And not forgetting our CHA team who helped to pull off this organisational feat!
And thank you to those who attended, shared their experiences and helped to make the day a very friendly occasion.
We’ve put together a list of holiday insurance companies who deal with pre existing condition. See our Travel Insurance page.
We’ve added a page listing contact information for the UK cardiac centres, also linked from the Information menu above.
Confirmed speakers to include antenatal diagnosis and care, holiday worries, how to talk to your children about the heart, vaccines for heart kids, how to use an automatic defibrillator, and advances in surgery.
There are special sessions for dads, new parents, older children, and grown up heart kids, with stalls from other heart charities.
This is a free event, with lunch included and free parking but, as places are limited, we do ask that you live in the North West or receive care from Alder Hey or Manchester cardiac units.
